Welcome
to the Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA) website! We hope
you find information that is useful to you as a higher education
professional or student.
OCPA
is a comprehensive professional association that has served the
needs of student affairs educators throughout the state for 30
years. We provide excellent professional development opportunities
for students, faculty and practitioners, and you will find a current
listing of the upcoming events on the “Calendar” link
to the left. Our largest event is the annual conference which
is presented in partnership with the Ohio Association of Student
Personnel Administrators (OASPA). More information
about this excellent and affordable networking and information
gathering event will be available on this website and in upcoming
newsletters. OCPA also offers other learning opportunities each
year, including the Careers in Student Affairs Conference and
the Support Staff Conference.
Obtaining
membership in OCPA is easy! Simply click on the “Membership”
link at the top of this page to learn how to join. Among the reasons
many of us have had for continuing our membership and involvement
in OCPA is that it has enabled us to become better connected to
student affairs professionals from many types of colleges and
universities across Ohio while staying current with issues affecting
our field and higher education in the state. We hope you will
consider joining if you have not already done so. Additionally,
if you are interested in becoming involved in OCPA, please contact
our OCPA President, Tracy Benner, at tbenner@otterbein.edu.
As
a group, we are very pleased to have been elected and appointed
to serve on this year’s Executive Council (see the link below). As volunteers in service to the profession, we are
a reflection of our overall membership, and include a balance
of newer and ‘seasoned’ faculty, administrators and
graduate students from four-year public, private and two-year
institutions. We invite your thoughts, comments and feedback at
any time during the year, and will do our best to maintain the
organization’s history of quality programs and services.
Best
Regards
Your OCPA Executive Council
